Woven leather, the essential element of summer

Woven leather shoes are an integral part of the Melvin & Hamilton's collection, mainly in spring and summer, but you can also find them in the fall-winter collection. Braided leather is a unique and very aesthetic trend this summer. In Melvin & Hamilton it appears in many colours and is combined with other types of leather.

    Process of braiding leather

The process of creating woven leather shoes requires the right technique and know-how: the leather is braided by hand on form, it's a meticulous operation that requires dexterity, attention... and time. Every detail counts to achieve a flexible mesh of great strength.

Hand-woven leather is of rare strength. It is impossible to pass your fingers through this braid, even if it is not doubled as on the Kate ballerinas for example.

    Solid but above all original!

Woven leather shoes are of perfect quality... but above all they are very original. And they leave no one indifferent!

Braided leather is not only reserved for ballerinas: it can be found in our derby shoes in all colours, as on the Selina 14 for women or the Henry 7 for men!

For summer, braided leather has its place in our sandals, and especially in our mules.

Finally, in winter too, we find braided leather in some models of boots.

Something to find your happiness in all seasons....

How to care for braided leather?

Woven leather does not require any special care. Like all leather shoes - even perforated ones - you should clean them with a soft cloth. If dust remains, a light brush can help to remove it.

To keep the leather supple, clean your shoes regularly with a quality cream - avoid low-end products that can leave stains or not soften the leather sufficiently.

And for the shine, a shoe polish - again of high quality! - will be enough to revive the colours and give brightness to the leather.

Do not hesitate to use shoe trees so that the braided leather does not deform.
