Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Melvin & Hamilton is committed to making its online store accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities, in accordance with the applicable regulations on the accessibility of products and services (Directive (EU) 2019/882 – European Accessibility Act, transposed into French law, notably by Order No. 2023-859).

Applicable standard

We rely on the EN 301 549 standard, which refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, as well as on the French General Reference Framework for Improving Accessibility (RGAA). These requirements are based on four principles: content must be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.

Compliance status

The website www.melvin-hamilton.com is partially compliant with the applicable requirements.

How we meet the requirements

We design our online store with the aim of making the essential functions accessible throughout the purchasing journey, and we continuously improve accessibility. Measures already implemented or under way include:

  • keyboard navigation possible, without a mouse
  • sufficient contrast between text and background
  • alternative text for images conveying information (e.g. product visuals)
  • clearly labelled form fields and understandable error messages, particularly in the cart and during checkout
  • logical heading and page structure for orientation with a screen reader
  • no information conveyed solely through colour or a sensory element

The service covers the selection and purchase of shoes and accessories through our online store: product search, product pages, cart, order completion and customer account. The payment step (checkout) is provided by our e-commerce platform. We regularly check the accessibility of our offering using automated tools and additional manual testing.

Non-accessible content

The following points are currently known and being addressed:

  • certain selection fields (e.g. the "quantity" field on product pages) are not yet unambiguously labelled;
  • certain interactive elements – e.g. links on images on the homepage and the delete link in the cart – do not yet have a label that can be used by assistive technologies;
  • for certain elements (e.g. the marking of unavailable sizes and certain navigation elements on an image background), contrast is not yet sufficient everywhere.

We are correcting these points as part of our ongoing development. If you encounter one of these barriers, or another one, please use the contact details below: we will provide you with the information or function concerned in an accessible format.

Feedback and contact

Have you encountered a difficulty accessing content or a feature? Let us know – we will endeavour to resolve it and to provide an accessible alternative.

Means of redress

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may report non-compliance with accessibility requirements to the competent market surveillance authority: the Direction générale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes (DGCCRF) in France. Since 28 June 2025, an online procedure has been available to report non-compliance with accessibility obligations for products and services (or to invoke an exemption).
